Kweku's Cypher: PIMPing Ain't Easy

Let me tell you — PIMPing ain't easy.

I only have one mind, one body, one soul. Just one. And if I don't protect it, no one else will do it for me. So, I made myself a promise: Peace Is My Protection. P-I-M-P. That's how I take care of the one body I was granted. But let me tell you — PIMPing ain't easy.

First, you have to determine what peace actually means to you.

We're all different, so what creates peace for me might create stress for someone else. Some people love to entertain — a house full of people, food, laughter, that's their peace. For me? That same scene gives me anxiety. It messes with my peace instead of adding to it. There's no universal formula here. You have to get honest about what genuinely settles your mind, body, and soul — not what's supposed to, not what looks good, but what actually does.

Second, once you know what creates your peace, you have to figure out how to maintain it.

How do you build it into your life regularly—without letting other people or their priorities become more important than your own? For me, I know that massages, a hot bubble bath, a good book, time at the beach, and a Netflix series create real peace. So the question becomes: what do I have to do to be intentional about adding more of that into my life, on purpose, not just when I'm running on empty?

Third — and this is the hardest part — you have to protect it.

Once you know what peace looks like for you, and you've started creating intentional moments for it, how do you guard it? That means taking an honest look at your life — the people, the places, the things — and asking which ones are actually taking your peace away. Some relationships cost more than they give. Some commitments drain more than they fill. Protecting your peace sometimes means stepping back, saying no, or simply choosing differently.

We have to learn — really learn — the concept of PIMPing. If peace is how I protect my mind, my body, and my soul, then mastering it is a skill. It doesn't happen by accident.

A few ways to start mastering your PIMP game:

1. Get clear. Write down three things that genuinely create peace for you — not what should, but what does.

2. Schedule it. Peace doesn't happen by accident; put it on the calendar like any other priority.

3. Audit your circle. Notice who fills you up and who drains you.

4. Practice the pause. Before saying yes to something, ask if it protects or costs your peace.

5. Guard your no. You don't owe anyone an explanation for protecting your peace.

Because guess what — Pimpin' ain't easy. But it's worth it.
